Description

Welcome to Big Blue #116, a Landmark Vacation Rentals home! From the moment you cross the bridge onto Topsail Island you’ll notice Big Blue on the water ready to welcome you to the vacation of a lifetime! The grandest house on Topsail Island, Big Blue has it ALL and is your own private, mini-resort for your next blow out intergenerational family vacation, reunion, wedding, church retreat, corporate outing, or guys or girls trip! Featuring a private in-house full screen movie theater with stadium seating, pool table, two private salt water pools, hot tub, multiple oceanfront decks with ample seating, built-in gas grill, and plenty of space to gather for meals and family time on the top floor! Another great feature of Big Blue is the elevator which stops at all floors and comes in handy for guests with mobility issues or for bringing in your luggage and groceries.

You will never run out of things to do at Big Blue. Located right on the ocean, you will have a private beach access right from the house down to the beautiful sandy beach of Topsail Island. After a fun day on the beach, clean up is easy with the outdoor shower. You can soak up the sun on one of the many decks or cool off with a dip in one of two salt water pools located on the oceanfront deck. If you need a break from the sun, you can enjoy a fun game of pool down in the game room or watch your favorite movie in the private, in-home movie theater with seating for 18! This main level theater/game room area is equipped with an additional refrigerator, wet bar, and half bathroom.

This home has 10 bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom and TV. Eight of the ten bedrooms feature a king-sized bed. One bedroom has four twin bunkbeds that can sleep 8 comfortably, and the other bedroom has one twin bunk bed and a twin bed with twin trundle underneath which sleeps a total of 4! The middle floor features 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, and the top floor has 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, as well as a massive kitchen and living room. The kitchen features a huge island, double ovens, large refrigerator, two coffee pots (a Keurig and a drip coffee pot), beverage fridge, and ice maker! Everyone can enjoy meals together with ample room for seating at the island or the two large tables in the dining area. This floor also has a comfortable family room with multiple large sofas, huge TV, and fireplace. Big Blue is located in the heart of Surf City, so you are within walking distance to the Surf City Pier and many local restaurants, coffee houses, bars, and gift shops. There is absolutely something for everyone at this spectacular mini-resort!

Hulu and Live TV are included with your stay, and guests may login to their other streaming accounts on the Roku TVs.

Elevator Notice
This home includes a residential elevator for guest convenience. While every effort is made to ensure it is functioning properly, elevators can occasionally require service. Elevator availability cannot be guaranteed, and refunds will not be issued if the elevator becomes inoperable during a stay. Guests who require elevator access should plan accordingly.

Please note: Special Events are allowed, please contact Landmark Vacation Rentals to inquire about a special event and pricing. Guests may park up to 3 vehicles in the spacious 3-car garage and the driveway can accommodate 3 more vehicles. We're sorry, but pets are not allowed at this home. Smoking is also prohibited inside. There is no landline telephone in this home. The salt water pools cannot be heated. This home is equipped with a keyless door lock and guests will be emailed and texted their unique door code prior to their check-in.

Provided With Your Stay: Bath Towels, Hand Towels and Washcloths, Bath Mats, and Kitchen Linens are provided. The 8 king beds will be made upon your arrival and sheets will be placed on the twin beds but not made. A First Night Amenity Kit which includes: Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Trash Bags and More will be waiting for you!

We had a wonderful family vacation experience at this house. The huge kitchen/living room area was perfect for family meals and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed for cooking. The location on the beach, with easy access to Wilmington airport and taco and ice cream places in walking distance, as well as an excellent fishing pier, is perfect. Less perfect is the bar across the street on occasional karaoke nights, but they always shut down the karaoke by 10:30pm. There were a number of minor issues with the house (no batteries in most TV remotes, empty gas tanks for the gas grill, disposals not working), but the management company was very responsive and sent out repair people right away. The circulation system failed on the two small salt water pools, which the kids loved to splash around in, and that looks like a more serious repair issue. For our large family it would have been helpful to have some bedrooms with twin beds instead of all king beds (aside from the two bunk bedrooms).

Overall we will highly recommend this place to our friends (but not for when we want to come back again here next year!!).

The house is amazing! Very clean & well equipped kitchen. Cupboards and drawers very clean. Separate bar area in the kitchen/ great rm is amazing and well equipped. Plenty of bedrms to accommodate our crew. Grandkids are all now old enough to venture to get ice cream & souvenirs on their own. Close to the pier and so much. I was concerned it would be a crowded area on beach but not a problem. Thank you to the owners and mgt co. We’ll be back!

Our Big Blue Crew 2025 were from AR, FL, IN, NC, & TN. This was our 7th time at this property. We were 16 strong. The owner had upgraded kitchen with new ovens and new furniture and lights in the living room and dining area. The property was easy to self check-in/out. Very clean. The location is convenient (walking) to Surf City restaurants, shops, bars, grocery store. Our crew rated the following establishments 5 stars; Surf City IGA, Public’s, Food Lion, WalMart + delivery , Daddy Mac’s, Shaka Taco, Riverview Grill Snead’s Ferry, Surf City Crab Market, Mia’s Market Place, East Coast Sports, Wildfire Pizza, & Daily Grind. Called Landmark about few minor issues; they immediately sent maintenance out to repair. We will book this property again with Landmark.

This home is taken care of immaculately. The kitchen has everything you need, and the owner did not just pick out cheap pots and pans, silverware, or cutlery. Above standard and may not be what is in your home, but items were chosen well.

The house was clean and the bedrooms were fantastic, along with the linen delivery.

Landmark picked an excellent cleaning crew. Don’t forget to tip the cleaners on your way out—$5 a day per adult and child (just something with a nice note).

Big Blue is all about location, location, location! Ideally located in Surf City within walking distance to shops, grocery store, restaurants, and music venues made it a great place to satisfy the wants and needs of the entire family.

We had a great time with 26 people staying for a week (14 adults and 12 kids), enough room to keep people happy and together under one roof. This is the second year our family has rented for spring break and will consider it again for next year. Very well-equipped home and attentive staff at Landmark. Easy access to all the Surf City activities.

We have been vacationing at Topsail Island for 14 years and this home is, in our opinion, the best house yet. The location is great, within walking distance to restaurants, shops and Surf City pier The ocean views are breathtaking. Plenty of room to hang out together as a group or retreat to your room. We enjoyed the theater room for watching football games and movies.
We will return in 2025.

Great location and accommodations for our group — three generations ages 12-85 yrs and 7 families. There was plenty of space for gathering and cooking meals. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. The theater room worked out great, not only for watching movies but also for yoga and work outs. We loved the proximity to the beach, shops, and restaurants. This was our first visit to Top Sail Island, and it worked out great for everyone traveling in from different locations (California, Colorado, and Virginia).

Awesome rental. House is as beautiful as the photos look. Very well stocked kitchen with many amenities. Beautiful,clean beach. Very child friendly beach, especially at low tide. Management company was great too. We had a problem with the pool and it was fully repaired within a couple hours. I highly recommend this rental.

Our entire family had the blessing of sharing one home under one roof for an entire week! So many memories were made during our time at Big Blue. Our family has been taking an annual beach trip every year for at least 18 years. As our family grows, our beach house gets bigger! Big Blue was the best house so far....loved the extra features of the two pools, the pool table, and the amazing theater. We had more than enough room to accommodate everyone. The kitchen and family room was where we all got together for meals and family time. I honestly got lost in the house several many bedrooms and hallways! Was wonderful for all the grandchildren (11 that are all 6 and under...with a 12th on the way!) to "do life" together with all the cousins, aunts, uncles, Grandpa, and JoJo. We don't have one negative thing to share here. We will reserve this home as often as we can for our annual family beach vacation. Landmark Realty was terrific to work with before and during our Topsail Beach stay. *Thanks for the memories*

This was a great house in a great location! A lot of space for our group of 17. The management company was very responsive and helpful throughout/ from getting us ready for the stay, to a brief internet glitch, an extra cleaning we requested, and helping with parking!

We had 16 friends and family from AR, FL, MO , & NC. We celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, & just being together. Have booked for 2024. Big Blue is in the perfect location (beach, parking, shopping, dining). The fully equipped kitchen makes meal prep for large groups a breeze. Big plus for our group is bathroom in every bedroom. Landmark is very customer oriented and stands ready to try and take care of any property issues. Thank you Big Blue property owner and Landmark for offering such a great vacation rental.

We had a wonderful time at our first stay at Surf City. The location , beach wise, is hard to beat! There is a very loud live music place ( Scallywags) that faces the garage side bedrooms that plays music till 11, which made it hard for little children in our party to sleep. The elevator was not functioning but rental group addressed that with us appropriately. Its a great house full of amenities that we all enjoyed and a perfect place for large families . Kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need . Pricing is very fair compared to other beaches we have been to . Wd had a great time .

Note: Be very careful with all railing areas with small children , some of them are loose and house definitely needs some repair with those areas .

This is our second time staying at Big Blue. If you like to be close to restaurants, grocery stores and all the excitement you’ll love it here. The house is perfect for our family although the family room area is quite small for the number of people. But we don’t spend much time inside so it’s sure not a deal breaker. The beds were super comfortable and there were lots of pillows! It’s nice to have the linens and towels all there for us as our family traveled from all over the country to gather. There’s a neat bar right across the street if you like the nightlife. However they do have live music until 11 or so on the weekends which may keep you from sleeping. Landmark responded quickly to all our requests. I would highly recommend this place for your large family gatherings!
