Located on low-traffic South Shore Drive (25 mph), this oceanfront home is ideal for biking or walking to the Surf City Ocean Pier, local restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores, all while enjoying the peace and privacy of a premier beachfront setting.

This home is professionally managed by Landmark Vacation Rentals. For larger groups, this duplex may be rented alongside its sister property, Keeping It Salty #101, allowing accommodations for up to 18 guests total.

There is a keyless entry lock on the main entrance door. Guest groups are assigned a personal entrance code for the duration of their stay. Professional cleaning service is provided at the end of your stay. A linen package is included with your stay. Beds will be made upon your arrival. Please note all top bunks and trundles will not be made.

A First Night Amenity Kit, which includes: Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Trash Bags and More will be waiting for you! Professional cleaning service is provided after every guest stay.

Beach Mountain is perfectly located in Surf City. The house is very clean, nicely decorated, with a fully stocked kitchen
And lots of sand toys and a kiddie pool for the little ones! We had a multi-family vacation and the house was set up nicely with plenty of room for all.

Overall

This was our 21st year of renting at Topsail. Beach Mountain was probably the cleanest property we have rented. The location was close enough to local amenities, but far enough from the pier and beach access to allow you plenty of room on the beach to stretch out. The kids bedroom (bunk) is pretty small but the other 3 accommodated 2 adults comfortably. The deck furniture was all newer polywood and there was plenty. If I had any negatives, they would be small. First, there was not a Keurig coffee pot as advertised ( we came with pods but easy enough fix with the IGA so close). Second, There is a lift at the home which with 3 kids under 2 would have been nice to utilize to bring up all the suitcases, food and kid supplies. Renters do not have access. And third, the glass top on the kitchen table was broken when we arrived. We reported and were told they were aware. With a 1.5 year old we were a bit nervous, but in the end, nothing that affected our enjoyment. I would recommend this property to anyone considering it!

The house itself was generally nice, and we understood that the heavy rain was simply part of the risk of a beach vacation. However, a few issues affected our overall experience.

The beds advertised as queens "appeared" to be full/double beds. I am only 5'8", and my feet hung off the end of the bed. They were also not very comfortable. I have spent around $7,000 on oceanfront vacation homes before, so I expected this duplex to provide a comparable level of comfort and quality. Maybe the beds just seemed small, but they certainly were not comfortable, and we felt squeezed in.

Our main issue was that the internet was out for several days. Spectrum told us it was an isolated problem at this property, while the management staff seemed unclear about the problem and the status of the service calls. We received different information depending on whom we spoke with.

I eventually contacted Spectrum myself and spent more than an hour making several calls before finally getting the repair arranged. A technician came out at 1:00 a.m. and corrected the problem in less than 45 minutes. Since I could have worked remotely during the two rainy days, the extended outage had a significant impact on our stay. We were surprised and disappointed that it took several days and so much personal effort to resolve what turned out to be a relatively quick repair.

I do want to compliment the maintenance staff. When we reported a clogged drain, someone responded and corrected it within a few hours.

Overall, the house and location were good. More accurate information about the beds and better coordination during the internet outage would have made the experience considerably better.

The management team was always friendly.

We do want to clarify a couple of points for future guests. The beds in the home are listed according to the owner-provided specifications and are advertised as queen beds. We understand that comfort preferences can vary, and we’re sorry they did not meet your expectations during your stay.

Regarding the internet outage, we completely understand how frustrating this was, especially with the rainy weather and your ability to work remotely being affected. That particular week, there was an island-wide Spectrum outage impacting multiple areas. Unfortunately, after the initial outage, an additional issue occurred that affected this home and an entire section of the street, which required Spectrum to make corrections beyond a typical service call. Our team made multiple calls to Spectrum, followed up on the status of the repairs, and also had the homeowner contact the provider to help escalate the issue. While we wish the repair could have been completed sooner, the timing and resolution were ultimately dependent on the service provider.

We appreciate your understanding that some situations, such as utility outages, are outside of our direct control, but we always do our best to advocate for our guests and get issues resolved as quickly as possible.

Fantastic beachfront stay! The property was super clean, comfortable, and in an unbeatable location. Being just steps from the beach made it easy to enjoy the ocean whenever we wanted. We loved the convenience, beautiful surroundings, and relaxing atmosphere. The only minor suggestion would be a little attention to the front landscaping, as the weeds in the front area were somewhat overgrown. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, would definitely return, and highly recommend this property to future guests.
