Escape to Hana Kai, Hawaiian for “House on the Water” a 5-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom oceanfront home located in the heart of Surf City. Sit on either the upper or lower deck and enjoy the blue-green, clean ocean water. Collect shells and go for peaceful walks that are great for the kids on this beautiful stretch of nearly private beach. With a private beach access, breathtaking ocean views from multiple rooms in the house, and ample space for relaxation, this coastal retreat is the perfect spot for your next family vacation or group getaway.

This home has been recently updated with all rooms freshly painted, quartz kitchen countertops, updated TVs throughout, kitchenware, outside dinnerware, flooring in the foyer, deck furniture including a table and chairs, and a gas grill.

Guests will enter through the ground-floor carport entrance. Proceed up the stairs to the second floor, where you'll find four of the five bedrooms thoughtfully arranged for your comfort and convenience. Two ocean-facing bedrooms, each with a king-sized bed, offer direct deck access and private ensuite bathrooms—perfect for enjoying the sound of the waves from your room. The third bedroom features a queen-sized bed, while the fourth is a bunk room designed to accommodate up to 6 guests with a twin-over-twin bunk bed with a twin trundle and a twin-over-full bunk bed. These two bedrooms share a full bathroom located in the hallway.

Head upstairs to the main living level, where you're greeted with stunning, unobstructed ocean views through a wall of windows. The living area features a bright and airy space with vaulted ceilings and recently updated furniture to make your beach vacation the perfect mix of “beach chic” and yet so practical. The living room also offers comfortable seating, a TV, and a collection of board games, providing entertainment for guests of all ages. Culinary lovers will enjoy the well-stocked kitchen complete with a bar area, full dining area, plus a bonus breakfast nook with a street side balcony. A half bathroom can be found just off of the kitchen area as well as a fifth bedroom, which has a queen-sized bed and an ensuite bathroom.

Step out to the oceanfront deck to enjoy the view - you can enjoy the comfort of the shade provided by the recently added 11x11 motorized awning! Stroll down the private direct beach access walkway and walk the sandy kahakai (beach), you have arrived at your perfect vacation at Hana Kai.

There is a keyless entry lock on the main entrance door. Guests are assigned a personal entrance code for the duration of their stay. This home is not pet-friendly. There is parking for 6 vehicles in the carport and driveway. There are two outdoor showers. A gas grill is provided for your stay. Guests are responsible for cleaning the grill before departure. A propane tank is available, but guests may need to refill it if it is empty.

Provided With Your Stay: Bath Towels, Hand Towels and Washcloths, Bath Mats, and Kitchen Linens are provided. Beds will be made upon your arrival. A First Night Amenity Kit which includes: Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Trash Bags and More will be waiting for you! Professional cleaning service is provided after every guest stay.

We had a wonderful time with family. The house was beautiful and very well supplied with the necessities. It was also very clean when we arrived. Everything was very accessible, especially dry the beach. We enjoyed our stay very much and plan to come back again in the future.

We absolutely loved our renting experience! The house was clean, uncluttered and well maintained. We were located only a few minutes from surf city, so running to town was simple. The house was well kept up with, fully stocked in the kitchen and nicely decorated. We have been going to topsail for years and this was our 9th house we have stayed in. We are already planning to stay here again! There was a laundry service for sheets and bath towels, which made getting rooms set up and packing up a breeze. We had a question mid-week and we received an answer via text service within a few minutes. Hands down our easiest renting experience! We look forward to renting here again ��

We had a great week on Topsail Island. The house suited our family very well - having 4.5 baths going along with the 5 bedrooms was really nice.
The house layout works well, with a nice two level deck and raised poly wood chairs and a nice retractable sunshade. The kitchen is nicely appointed, we cooked all of our meals in and found the pans and utensils we needed.

Another great Topsail vacation!

I have been vacationing on Topsail for the last 30 years. I was a rental property owner for years, but I no longer own the property so now I have to rent :-) I have to say I was VERY impressed with not only the property, but also the property manager. I appreciated all the communication I received. I was very impressed with the the properties overall condition. Hana Kai was clean, spacious enough for our party of 10 (6 adults 4 teens), and was fully stocked with kitchen utensils! I also appreciated the 2 king bedrooms which perfect for 2 families traveling together. The location was also excellent, you are JUST close enough to everything. I love that the driveway is big enough to manuever cars when needed. Overall I have to give Hana Kai 10 stars...we had a GREAT TIME!! The owners have great pride in their property and it shows :-)

The house was as described and beautiful. I t was right on the beach and well maintained. Bedroooms were nicely decorated and seemed ithey might have been freshly painted? We had plenty of room for 11 people. the only suggestion I would offer is to bring your own games/cards - the games on the property are a mess and need organization. However, I would definitely recommend this property for your vacation!

Our week long stay at Hana Kai was fantastic. The house was clean, updated, and on a terrific stretch of beach. The kitchen was large and well stocked with plenty of cookware, platters and dishes. Furnishings were lovely. Outside shower was heaven. Location was 1.8 miles south of the center of Surf City with plenty of restaurants and beach shops. Beds were okay, and new bedding was great. The owners clearly care about offering a top quality rental and it shows! Landmark Realty was professional and the reminder texts for trash night and departure requirements was appreciated. We can also recommend VayKlife Gear for beach equipment - we enjoyed the corn hole game that was delivered on our arrival day and picked up on our departure day. Only negative....lots and lots of stairs inside and outside the house so bring your "A" game knees, back and hips! We will certainly return to this exceptional rental as soon as we can.
